My challenge to you///
I challenge you to the death
Look in the mirror, thorough and deep
Make one change, from now till your last breath.
And every word you speak, let it be a vow to keep.
Let your actions be absolute,
As the Father seeing from every angle.
Let your faith be resolute,
Becoming God's faithful Angel.
I challenge you to the death.
Til present with the Lord, and absent from earth asleep.

FREEDOM!!

Yo!

So this week, I have been feeling awfully stifled to keep my mouth shut all because the "listener" does not want to...well listen and take heed.

To all those who I am around, I expect and demand only 2 things: 1. Cortesy 2. Honesty. Number two is honesty about who you are, honesty about what you think. No faking, no lying, no fronting.

I will call you out when I see something wrong. I will say what i believe, I will challenge you, and I will ask questions. All of which, I expect you to do for me.

You can stay in your small world, your 7 sided box if you want, but I promise you this: I will not be a part of it. You will come out of your box to see the world of ideas, possiblities, wonders, truth. I will not constrict myself to what YOU THINK to be true. (especially when I know otherwise...) I promise you this: I will almost ALWAYS be 10 steps ahead of you just because of my experiences alone. I also promise to keep my faith and my promise until the bitter bloody end. So you may try to sway me into your teeny weeny box and your weak ideas and your shallow mode of thinking, but It will not work.

I am me. I am both concrete and elusive. I am TRULY FREE. You may call me the least, but I will tell you this as well, even strangers come to me knowing I am the Best.
I am the best at being who I am. I am open minded, and I am USUALLY calm. I am Loving, and I am both a Servant and a Leader. I am a blessing to all those around me. I dont make people feel like crap with snide remarks like "I want to move on from the past and onto better things". I remember. I encourage (unless I am being honest about a thing). I do lie, but at least I admit it and make up for it. And last, but definitely not the least, I say all of this in HUMILITY.

How dare you judge me, mock and ignore my faith.

Hi there again people!

I feel like it is necessary for me to discuss this, because this week has been the week of clashing understanding because of stubbonesses.

I will begin with this question: What am I?

I have a vertebrae, and hair, live on land, and can have children (but I dont lay eggs). I know that I am at least a mammal. I am classified as a homohomo sapien, aka a human.

I could easily end this blog here.

I am a human being, and I know I have feelings. I cant quite say the same for others outside of me, because I can only verify my own existance by existing. But in anycase, I am human and there is something inside of me that justified my being here. I call it a soul.

This is an acceptable answer as well.

I am a human with a spirit. There is something powerful with in me capable of great adn wonderful things, and I need only to tap into this power. Though I know it resides inside of me, I know it is not my own, it MUST come from something greater than I. It is also present in others as well...

This is an acceptable answer.

I went from concrete evidence, to faith and spirit. Are all of these right? Actually, We dont really know. We only know all of this from Faith (even science has a certain amount of faithful charm attatched to it). I went from an emprical realm of discussion and explanation, to a rational one. (Empiricism is when you justify something's existance based upon what you see, hear, taste, smell, etc. Rationalism is more so the realm of ideas, justification by reason, like the concept of the number 0, or the belief in an ideal.)

This same concept applies to the Holy Bible, and words and language. Of course, I could easily make this into a linguistics essay, but right now, i want only to show something that others choose not to see. (which is denial on their behalf, but whatever).

Lets take a look at a the bible shall we? I'm going to open it to a book and chapter that the Holy spirit leads me to open it to. Follow my lead please!

Isaiah 9:2 will make an excellent example.

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

What does this mean?

I could take what this passage means literally, or metaphorically. Literally, I can say that there is a land of the shadow of death that people actually live in, and then suddenly light some how came forth.

However, this is actually forcasting the coming of the Prince of Peace...AKA the Messaiah AKA Jesus. We all walked through the valley of the shadow of death. Specifically we were condemned to everlasting death because of our sin. However, because of His ultimate sacrifice, we have a choice to live in the light and achieve everlasting life if we Confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, that he Died on the cross for all of our sins, and that he became the ultimate sacrifice in which his blood cleansed our inherent sins.

There is a difference between simply reading, and actually reading in the spirit. There is the world of concreteness that we see and enteract with and touch, and there is the world of symbols, ideas, the things you cannot touch, but can understand. We read the bible to obtain a Godly spirit, not simply for knowledge, nor just to memorize words. I think that Elwin R. Roach pretty much summed it up best when he said "there is no life in the letter alone, never has been, and never will be."

We read the bible to deny our carnal masks, the parts of ourselves that society and our desires demand that we have, or you could call it the id. We want to bring forth and accentuate the us that God created us to be, to be free in who we truly are, all in God's reason and understanding. We do not read the bible to justify our actions, only on Sundays. What I am trying to say is that the bible is not just a book, it is a piece of the infinite spirit of THE GOD.

It is a reformatting book. Are you going to become Godlike over the summer if you decide to read a few books a month? Probably not. We all fall short of the glory of God. Furthermore, its not just a matter of reading the bible. Now that you are a reader, you have to understand, you cant just go doing the things that you did and push the bible aside for a later time. You MUST practice and do what you learned. Furthermore, you must understand that right now, you know absolutely nothing compared to even what the bible has for you to adopt.

You cannot Do whatever you want because it justifies it in a single verse. You are missing the entire message and spirit when you do that! Yes it has its place, but not to solidify the deal on every action. When we grasp the spirit of God when we read, we shed the petty aspects of the world.
In general, we are held to a higher level. We dont run away from our problems and our pasts, because we have no fear of them, and we are not afraid to do what is right. Our minds are reconditioned into that of GOD. Our words are our bonds, because God's words are absolute. We are considerate of others, because God also sees to the needs of all.

We have to be conscious doers of the word, or else we become part of the problem in Christianity today.

Hi there people!

Well, needless to say what has been going on with me. Someone may try to kill themselves.

I started going to a church in Goldsboro every Saturday or Thrusday, and I liked it at first but this one thing kept bothering me: Why do you have the time and money to do all of these elaborate things? Why aren't I hearing about feeding the homeless, and instead repairing a church out of state?

The spirit was there, but the piorities concerned me. I brought my brother with me, and he all but solidified it whenever he was also appalled by how politics was being mixed in.....

And so, I am officially churchless again.

Before I continue with my story, allow me to tell you how things move for me. There is always one entity that decides to post something involving what I am going through, or one sermon on television that does the same, or one person who feels the need to comment about my situation. I usually investigate the aspects of the message being conveyed, and I always find my answer.

Today, I went online to say hello to my sparkly bows and crowned friend. I also saw an acquaintence online. He asked me if I had work, or why I wasnt at church. Interesting enough I had already told him earlier that I am off on Sundays, but he must have forgotten. (One day is for organized functions, one day is for independent study. I may have 2-4 days in which I study God's word independently. Hey, it works really well for me). In any case, he left with only this phrase "Fail not to assemble yourselves". And logged off without saying nothing more ^^. Once again, Evil communications corrupts good manners (yes I am talking to you. anonymously, because you will never actually gather the oomspah to read this and actually solve the problem, but yes. I am addressing this to you).

Well, the spirit in me after this said "he didnt give you a book or verse...". Thank God for google! I googled it, and was actually intrigued by an essay on the matter by this dude with the last name Roach. Its pretty lengthy, but it is rich in content, It is a must read for church goers and seekers alike that I highly recommend:

I'm not sure what bible he was using. I have the kjv. Heb 10:25

"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

My usual habit of studying a verse is to at least look at the verse before and after it. Many people start spitting out scriptures only to prove their point, not to get into the spirit of the word.

so here is Heb 10:24:

"And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:"

and Heb 10:26:

"For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth that remaineth no more sacrifice for sins"

Basically, Mr. Roach tells us of the differnce between assembly and gathering. Gathering is equivalent to fans cheering on their teams. Assembly is equivalent to the actual teams playing. Gathering is just being there for support, passive purpose. They are a bunch of individuals who come into one place for going's sake and for individual purpose. People assemble not only for the sake of themselves, but to also get things done. He further distinguishes this by using actual word etymology ( translating the original words).

What I found most peculiar was towards the middle-end of the essay when he spoke of how David went into the caves of Adullam in order to evade Saul's control of the church. I cant go into too much detail on this, because I honestly have not studied much of anything relating to David except Psalms XD. Sorry guys! However, Mr. Roach kindly gives us enough information to understand his point. At first, only David went into the caves to get closer to God. Eventually 400 people came and joined him as well. They were all disgrunted, upset, and all that good stuff humans experience whenever they are oppressed in some way or another. Mr. Roach uses this to illustrate once again the spirit of assembly. These people came to be liberated under God, and excape from ceremonial rites and humdrum in Saul's church. (I am only paraphrasing because I have not done the actual study. I am only commenting on his essay, and of what little I know and remember the bible speaks of).

Well, It is here that I remember how small "churches" were started in the new testament (the part of the bible I am about 75-85 familiar with, even spiritually). Especially during Paul's ministry, many churches were started as small cells in the homes of people....

Hmmm....thats a huge jump from the insane megachurches elsewhere....even the ones with only 50 members in it.

Yes we are all part of the body of Christ, but I also feel that it is necessary, like Mr. Roach did, to acknowledge where the individual plays in the church going experience. Like I said. We are all members of the body of Christ. We all have a purpose in the whole. As much as science wants to say otherwise, the brain is not the most important part of the body. There is also the intestines, the muscles, the heart, etc. They all function to make a moveable, workable body. Similarily, we all have a function. The key is to find a place in which whe can operate in that God given function, and further use our individual gifts for the greater whole.

Back to the football game analogy. There are those who fuction as cheerleaders, and simply fans. There are others who play defence, there are those who play offense, and then we have our quarterbacks, yadda yadda (I'm not a football fan). There are those who's purpose is to specifically keep the morale and spirit up of those playing. There are those who actually have to play and do something.....

Now I will end this at the beginning. I want to be in a place where I can make a difference and help people. My heart and will are large, but I know that in a large crowd, noone will listen to it. I have a soft and soothing voice when in spirit, but in a loud place, my voice will be drowned out, and I can comfort no one. I do not believe that God wants us to just join any church, or mini group for that matter, just for the sake of going. True church, the kind that starts off with a small group and grows with purpose, does something not just for itself, but for the community around it through the Grace and Spirit of God.

You will note that I said the Spirit of God....as in, Walking as he walks, thinking as he thinks, both the mind and flesh as one in Him. Thats another blog for another time. :)
