something eternal II
So, The computer is more or less free today. I took the opportunity to read my past journal entries. It is amazing how much my mentality has changed. There are always certain experiences that change or influence one for the better or worst. I found that turning point in an old entry from almost a year ago.
A brief summary: Something petty happened that caused me inner tumoil.
I didn't want to live. I wanted something loyal and constant in my life. I also wanted answers. I saw death as a method of obtaining what I wanted.
Eventually, I recieved my answer without the extra drama.
I read this entry and I am reminded of what I really want.
I want the eternal. I want true stable, steadfast loyalty. I want that same kind of loyalty that is promised when you look up at the sky and see an innumerable amount of lights illuminating the night sky. Everything is moving, things change, but they are always there in one form or another.
I want the comfort in knowing that someone or something will always be there when I need a shoulder to lean on, whether literally or metaphorically.
It took me a while to understand that this is what I have been wanting more than anything. And perhaps it is something that I will never be able to find, but I will always look for it. That is why I love animals so much, because they seem to give me that steadfast loyalty that is so shaky in human beings.
